About REAP (Richmond Entrepreneur's Assistance Program)

REAP is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization focused on providing comprehensive job training and meaningful employment for individuals with disabilities. We are using a "social enterprise" model; creating businesses that provide on-the-job and soft skills (social) training and then employment in our businesses, and in other businesses in the community. Did you know? Employment rate for adults with a disability: 29.7% vs. 77.8% without. Unemployment rate for adults with a disability: 15.6% vs. 9.2% without (2009 US Department of Labor Report) People with Disabilities take 10 times longer to gt a job than their non-disabled counterparts (VA DRS statistics). The Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services developed 8,898 individual employment plans for 2012, with a total of 3,390 becoming employed after receiving services. (VA DRS 2010 Annual Report). Among college graduates, 43% of People with Disabilities were unemployed compared to 18% of their non-disabled peers (2008 Cornell Unemployment study).
