Fall of 2021, Rebuilding Together connected with local leaders in Mobile County to share a vision and a solution for our neighbors needing home repairs, disaster recovery, and community revitalization. Rebuilding Together of South Alabama became an affiliate because four community leaders said, “yes”. From there, the Steering Committee was formed and the work began. This team worked together for two years to build this nonprofit and was very intentional in it’s creation. Several of these founding members continue to serve as board members. Thier commitment and vision supports Rebuilding Together of South Alabama to fill the gaps and ensure that our neighbors in Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, and Washington counties have safer and healthier homes. We achieve this through a network of volunteers and supporters. These [Re]builders are advocates of safe and healthy housing who repairs homes, revitalizes communities, and rebuilds lives. At Rebuilding Together of South Alabama, we make essential repairs to help our neighbors stay in their homes. Each affiliate follows national standards-25 Safe and Health Priority Checklist and 7 Community Revitalization Partnership Principles to provide consistency throughout the network.
