About Resounding Joy
Resounding Joy is a San Diego-based nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives through the healing power of music therapy. We utilize clinical, evidence-based interventions that support each client’s social, cognitive, emotional, motor, physiologic, physical, and mental health goals. Our board-certified music therapists serve people of all ages—from premature infants to those receiving end-of-life care—in settings that are emotionally and financially accessible. In addition to our therapists, we engage trained musicians and dedicated volunteers who support program delivery under the guidance and supervision of our clinical team, helping us extend our reach and deepen our impact in the community. Our four core programs include Sounds of Service (military, veterans, first responders), Sounds of Healing (children and youth), Sounds of Legacy (older adults), and Sounds of Community (wellness for all ages). Resounding Joy was founded in 2004 by Dr. Barbara Reuer, internationally known for her expertise in music-centered wellness and music therapy. Kerri Fox joined the organization in November 2023 as Executive Director and CEO.
