Volatile or vapor corrosion inhibitors (VCI) may be implemented to mitigate corrosion of metallic structures or components. VCIs readily release vapors based on the principal of partial pressure and vapor pressure. Once released, these molecules interact with metallic surfaces to protect from further corrosion through a multitude of different mechanisms.
