Rita's Gourmet Catering prides itself for maintaining a high standard of food quality, and a beautiful and attentively prepared, customer-friendly presentation. Our ingredients are meticulously chosen for our dishes which are made with only the finest and freshest genuine Italian products. Our ingredients are also based on the purity of the Mediterranean diet and traditional family recipes from Italy's central and southern regions. Rita and her husband, Carlo arrived in California over 35 years ago with a dream of opening their own Italian restaurant serving genuine Italian dishes. They opened 'Trattoria de Roma', in Tarzana and later 'Piccola Roma', in Woodland Hills, California. With their success in the restaurant business many customers asked them to cater their parties and functions and a catering business emerged. They decided to close the restaurants and concentrate on the catering business. They now specialize in catering weddings, office parties, dinner parties, special occasion parties and school lunch programs. For years our customers had been asking if it was possible to purchase our delicious famous salad dressings and our pasta sauces and soups. We kept being encouraged to package them and sell them. So last year we started expanding into Farmer’s Markets and selling our products there under the name Rita’s Roman Recipes. It is no longer necessary to fly to the Italian countryside to taste genuine Mediterranean cuisine. Rita's Gourmet Catering can bring a slice of the Mediterranean right into your own home or workplace and offer a truly authentic and professional experience.
