Founded in 1980 as 'Randfontein Saligna Beams,' RSB (Pty) Ltd. has established itself as a pioneering force in the manufacturing of timber products, boasting a rich history spanning over four decades. Initially focused on the production of laminated Saligna beams, the company ventured into laminated Pine beams in 1986 and subsequently introduced SA Pine mouldings in 1993. RSB swiftly garnered a reputation as one of the largest and most esteemed manufacturers and suppliers of timber products in Southern Africa. In 2003, a significant expansion and relocation from Randfontein to Chamdor marked a pivotal moment for RSB, as the company transitioned to a new 18,000 square meter facility, with 8,000 square meters dedicated to cutting-edge timber production and woodworking machinery. This expansion positioned RSB to effectively meet the escalating demand for its products, further solidifying its status as a premier provider of quality timber solutions within the region. Under the astute guidance of Craig Pottow, who assumed leadership in 2005, RSB experienced robust growth and ongoing success, broadening its client base to encompass a diverse array of customers spanning local and international domains. Presently, RSB offers an extensive array of timber products, encompassing a variety of exotic timbers sourced from Africa, the Far East, and South America.
