About Smile Care Hub

Smile Care Hub is a mobile oral health service dedicated to improving the oral health and wellbeing of children aged 0–5 through preventative care, early intervention, and education. We visit early childhood education and care centres across Bundaberg, providing onsite dental check-ups, fluoride applications, and tailored oral health advice - all within the comfort and familiarity of the centre environment. We bring our own portable chair and equipment, making the experience easy for centres and relaxed for children. At the heart of Smile Care Hub is a commitment to reducing the number of children starting school with untreated dental disease. Our approach is preventative, family-centred, and designed to meet children where they are, both developmentally and physically. In addition to dental care, we offer: * Airway and oral function screenings to identify signs of myofunctional concerns early. * Orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) to support healthy oral and facial development. * Parent education and individualised oral health reports to empower families. * Community engagement through educational events and resources. Smile Care Hub is led by Kym Shires, a registered Oral Health Therapist with additional training in orofacial myology and a strong belief in the power of early intervention.
