It was a simple meeting of friends at a bar to commiserate over some tough breaks in business that led Stephen Mansfield and Daniel Blunschi on a path to realising their dream – a new life, a new business and perhaps a little legacy. That night Daniel & Steve came up with a new way to show time and scribbled the concept on the back of a beer mat. The journey from there has seen the entrepreneurial pair be awarded a patent for their design, develop new watch mechanisms and launch their watch to the world through a successful crowdfunding campaign in the spring of 2018. Christened SNGLRTY this unique and innovative watch is now available globally through snglrtywatch.com. SNGLRTY is an outstanding mechanical single handed Swiss chronometer that displays the time accurately. The precise minute aligns in the aperture on the oversized hour hand – a distinguishing characteristic of SNGLRTY and a core aspect of the patented time display. Time can be read intuitively and accurately by just one glance. The counter clockwise rotation of the minute hand means that time is always converging at a single point – where the hand is located. A little metaphor of life – life never goes in one direction, but it is always happening now, in this instant, at a single point as it is displayed on SNGLRTY Available in two executions, OHI2 and OHI4 (OHI stands for One Hand Indication), the unique module for SNGLRTY, assembled out of up to 18 parts, both reverses the direction of the minutes and slows them down. The module is integrated with the Sellita SW200 movement for the OHI2 execution and the premier execution fully decorated SW300 movement for OHI4. In addition the OHI4 boasts the added complication of the date function, relocating this on top of the module was a more challenging task than can be imagined.
