About Specialist Language

In 2007 Specialist Language was established in Paris by CEO Sean Roe. He started his career in international reinsurance, medical underwriting, and risk selection for ten years in London and Paris before spending five years as Director of Operations. While learning French he discovered it was seemingly impossible to find language trainers who knew the jargon of insurance, banking, or economics, so he decided to change career path and to use his first-hand experience to teach advanced business English. The company started writing and delivering face-to-face courses, as well as online training content. We have run English language training at some of the great business educational institutions such as INSEE and ENASS, as well as teaching executives in many of the major firms in Paris’s financial district including Mazars, Allianz and Generali. We created bespoke workshops on specific business subjects for Marsh and other financial sector heavyweights. Since 2019 we are focusing on online training and running regular webinars in English for technical business communication. Our Business English Masterclasses, which take place over several weeks, cover all industry sectors such as Finance, Insurance, Presentations, International Business, Information Technology, Law and Medicine. We have also created our first self-study fully interactive course in the English of Management Reporting, Measurements and Money, and are working on further online products including the English of Insurance, Finance, and the Wine Industry. As a company we can tailor custom-made training courses for professionals.
