At Spiral Hydrogen, we are developing a groundbreaking hydrogen production unit that combines the entire hydrogen generation process—from converting mechanical energy into electrical energy to driving the electrochemical reactions for hydrogen production—into a single, efficient system. Unlike conventional methods that rely on a complex network of separate components such as generators, transformers, transmission lines, electrolyzers, and power electronics, our solution integrates all these functions into one compact unit. This approach eliminates the complexity of traditional setups, significantly reducing both capital expenditure and operational challenges. In addition to streamlining the process and increasing efficiency before electrolysis, our electrolytic cell achieves the highest efficiency in the world, exceeding 90%. Currently, there are only two companies globally offering solutions with such high efficiency: Hysata in Australia and Spiral Hydrogen in Europe. Both are bubble-free, which significantly boosts efficiency. The key difference is that Hysata’s electrolyte is driven by capillary forces, while our electrolyte is driven by centrifugal forces. Our advantage is that we don’t depend on external electricity sources. This means we avoid the costly and inefficient infrastructure typically required to produce and deliver electrical power to the electrolyzer, reducing the cost of hydrogen even further. We have filed a patent for our technology and have built a lab-scale proof of concept.
