Stanwood is a successfull international app and web development agency with 10+ years of experience in app development and mobile publishing. Its team of 40 designers, developers and product managers operates from 12 countries all over the world. Stanwood started in 2009 with its first mobile TV guide ON AIR, which up until today has over one million active users and 4+ stars in the app stores and therefore is one of the most successful and beloved mobile TV guides in Germany. Since then, Stanwood developed over 60 native iOS and Android apps for customers from publishing, health & fitness and automotive, among them big companies such as ProSiebenSat.1, Condé Nast, Bertelsmann, Jaguar & Land Rover, etc. In 2015, Germany's third-largest magazine and newspaper publisher FUNKE Mediengruppe took a minority stake in stanwood, its main interest being the successful TV guide ON AIR, and acquired all outstanding shares of stanwood in 2017. From then on, stanwood became the mobile task force of FUNKE and spearheaded the digital transformation of its esteemed and beloved newspapers and magazines. In January 2019, Co-Founder and Managing Director Hannes Kleist took back full ownership of his agency, except the mobile TV guide ON AIR remaining with FUNKE. Back under original ownership, our course is set to become one of the largest remote agencies worldwide.
