About Studio Sitec

STUDIO SITEC is an architectural practice that works across the fields of architecture, interior design and urban planning. For STUDIO SITEC, Architecture is not a solitary art form. Our most beautiful buildings are created in deep collaboration with clients, residents, users, and other stakeholders. This results in buildings and homes that play an important role for both the present and future generations, both in terms of their immediate use and also in the role of a building in the city and the landscape that belongs to all of us. The profound meaning of architecture, concerning space, light, identity, and security, is strongly anchored in human needs. As we increasingly think holistically about the world, the needs of nature and ecology also play a more prominent role. The studio is led by founder and principal architect Bert Bulthuis who holds a Bachelor degree in Building Science and a Master degree in Architecture. He founded his architectural firm in The Netherlands in 1993 and established a new branch to expand on his Dutch building philosophy, in Hong Kong in 2012. Collectively, he and his team have designed and realized over 200 buildings, interiors and urban developments across the two practices, employing and collaborating with many talented architects, engineers and designers along the way. STUDIO SITEC‘s design specialties include: mixed use developments, housing projects for special needs groups, environmentally-friendly buildings, housing for private clients, the redevelopment of historical buildings, museums and temples. STUDIO SITEC uses a green and circular approach in its designs aiming to maximize circularity and to reduce CO² and the use of fossil fuels. Across our current projects, sustainability, biodiversity (landscape in the cityscape) and the use of non-fossil energy sources (solar energy, wind energy, warming/cooling with heat pump systems) are priorities.
