About TACS

Technical Assistance for Community Services (TACS), now known as the Nonprofit Association of Oregon, has been a provider of training and consulting services to nonprofits for over three decades. Since 1977, TACS has offered programs and services that enhance the capacity of nonprofits to fulfill their essential missions. In 2007, the Nonprofit Association of Oregon (widely known as NAO) was launched in 2007 as a program division of TACS. In 2009, the organization underwent a comprehensive planning process to determine the best model for serving the nonprofit sector in the current economic environment, and in the future. The Board and staff determined that the best way to ensure the organization most effectively serves the nonprofit sector was to focus its efforts in a leveraged way, under a unified business model. In September 2010, TACS and NAO completed an internal merger, with the Nonprofit Association of Oregon as the organizational identity and business model going forward.
