About Talkyds - Chat App For Kids

Talkyds for iOS & Android is a safe chat app for kids aged 7 to 11 years old. Designed ground-up for parents concerned with protecting their children's online safety, whilst giving kids the freedom to adopt new technology and communicate in a controlled but safe environment. After installing the app, parents are required to set-up an account (providing Government ID) before creating their child's account. Once kids have an account, they can ONLY connect to family members/friends whose accounts have also be set up by their parents. Parents have 100% control in terms of accepting/rejecting friend requests and also the ability to monitor conversations for misuse (inappropriate language, bullying etc). Problem Being Addressed: Increasingly, children are adopting the use of tablets and smartphones at a very early age. By the time they reach 6 or 7 years old, many are already tech-savvy and are starting to use their devices as a means to communicate with family (immediate family, cousins etc) as well as friends. The mainstream social networking and messaging options available today are not designed for this age group (7-11 year olds) and there are significant dangers and concerns associated with inappropriate language, cyber bullying, sexting and paedophilia).
