About Tapchanger Services
We have a broad customer base and carry out work for most British Transformer manufacturers. Regular customers include National Grid, BP, ICI, EDF, United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, Schneider Electric and all regional electricity companies (DNO’s). Our Service Engineers have working experience on a wide variety of tapchanger types and can provide a highly specialised maintenance service, either on site or at our workshops in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. -Routine Maintenance Our service personnel can provide on-site routine maintenance of all types of tapchanger with condition reports being produced after each inspection. This includes sections for each part of the tapchanger and any recommendations for further maintenance. Tapchanger Services Ltd. can provide high quality components where original parts are obsolete or modifications are required. -Breakdown Repair We can supply on-site repair services for many breakdown situations. We have a mobile workshop which enables us to respond quickly and carry out most repairs on-site. -Refurbishment and Rebuild Where damage to a tapchanger is extensive and prevents on-site repair it may be necessary to remove part or all of the unit to our workshops. There we will manufacture/source replacement parts, repair and test the unit before returning it to site where we will then re-install and re-commission. -Technical Support and Training Tapchanger Services Ltd can provide a technical support service to customers undertaking work themselves. Where necessary providing an engineer on-site to supervise customer’s own personnel. Tapchanger Services Ltd also provides structured training to customers’ personnel for specific tapchanger types. This may take the form of classroom or hands-on instruction as required.
