About Tempress Fish-On!

Tempress was founded in 1967 in Seattle, WA as a supplier of major components to the heavy truck industry. The name Tempress comes from the two main variables in injection molding TEMperature and PRESSure - Tempress. A marine division was started in 1972 because of the original owner’s love of fishing/boating and his desire to build better products. Several iconic brands were developed and patented over the years such as the All-Weather® Fold-Down Seat Shell, NaviStyle® seating system, Tempress Access Hatch®, and the Fish-ON!® Rod Holder. All were considered the first of its kind and have remained to this day best in class products. Over a million units have been sold in the seating and rod holder category. In the mid 1970’s Tempress also successful trademarked the term Fish-ON!®, arguably one the most frequently used terms in the world of fishing. This is significant because Tempress is the only entity that can legally use the mark Fish-ON!® for anything related to fishing, including apparel. In 1999, the Lozelle Family purchased the marine division of Tempress and relocated the full operation to Dallas, TX. In 2001, Tempress acquired a TX-based upholsterer and began supplying fully upholstered seats to domestic boat builders and major marine retail outlets. In 2005, Tempress acquired Ohio based HCL Limited and the very popular Boatmates® Marine Storage brand. Tempress supplies the global OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) boat building market, the North American retail market, the global marine distribution market, the domestic cooler cushion market, the domestic mobility/electric scooter market, as well as variety of non-marine markets that utilize custom upholstery and/or custom plastic components.
