About The Ecology Center
Located in San Juan Capistrano, The Ecology Center educates, inspires, and involves people in the stewardship of Southern California's environment through hands-on, practical solutions in the areas of Food, Water, Shelter, Waste, and Energy. We provide a variety of programs such as Backyard Skills, a DIY workshop series; Tools of the Trade, roundtable discussions with local eco-experts; The Water Shed, a mobile interactive, educational exhibit; Farm to Fork, children's cooking classes with local chefs; and Basic Needs, a summer speaker series to continue high-level dialogue about some of the current global ecological movements. The Ecology Center is founded on the principle that individuals can make a difference. We encourage visitors to "be part of the solution!" and join our community. As a non-profit, our community of members not only serves as ecological ambassadors to their communities, but membership also provides support funding for the good work we are doing in Orange County and the surrounding areas.
