About The Geo. Wiedemann Brewing

The new Geo. Wiedemann Brewing Co. is dedicated to the great brewing tradition of the original Wiedemann Brewery founded in Newport in the 1870s. Wiedemann’s Bohemian Special Lager is a crisp and flavorful lager in the Bohemian tradition. The beer, which is relatively low alcohol compared to heavier craft beers, is brewed with a proprietary blend of specialty Pilsner and Munich malts that are used in many craft beers and aromatic hops. It’s a thirst-quenching, light-bodied beer designed to drink when you’re having more than one. And we'll have dozens of other great brews of all varieties from our award-winning brewing team Steve Shaw and Austin Smith. Our new brewery complex in historic downtown St. Bernard features a tavern-like taproom with 42 beer taps, a spacious sundeck, tree-lined beer garden, a full kitchen, live music and rooms for private events.
