About The Green Cab
GreenCab is a multi-award-winning transport company founded by 5 women in the middle of an ecological resession a decade ago. It has since facilitated fully carbon-compensated transport, largely for corporates and over 100 events for the past decade. Key milestones include sevicing the the Soccer World Cup (2010) press in Cape Town as part of the Green Goal Project, operating 11 Climate Cabs at COP17 in Durban (2011) and the last 4 consecutive World Economic Forum on Africa events. It is in the process of scaling a fully-fledged Cab Division. Electric Vehicles will be operated by Women Drivers on a prominent national e-hailing app in South Africa. Pionering the use of EVs in the Cab sector in South Africa will yield valuable research incites into how it can improve airquality. To this end it is working wiht the United National Environment Programme. GreenCab will also calculate its emission-savings in order to offer corporate South Africa to lower their Carbon Tax obligations. The company is furthermore founding the first Women's Driving Academy in Southern Africa to addredd the gross under-representaion in the cab sector. Building a pipeline of suitably-trained, tech-savvy women "jockeys" is key to transformation to get Womenin the Driving Seat of their own futures.
