About The Lemur: Duke's Big Ideas Magazine
The Lemur is Duke's new magazine devoted to civil political discourse and the exploration of big ideas in philosophy, history, and the humanities. Fascinated by something you studied this semester and bummed that the class is over? Pleased with a paper you just finished but sad that probably only your professor is going to read it? Why not share what you learned (and keep learning more) by writing an essay for the broader intellectual community at Duke? We invite students to submit original pieces and/or adapted versions of essays written for class, to be read by a broader Duke audience in a digital and print publication and featured in discussion events to be held in the spring semester. The Lemur is sponsored by Polis: Center for Politics and Transformative Ideas and is dedicated to supporting a larger, livelier forum for intellectual culture at Duke.
