History isn’t just about the past—it shapes the world we live in today. As a historian and educator, I make Black history clear, engaging, and relevant—all in just 10 minutes a day for 40 days or less. My book, "Systems That Shape(d) Black America," takes readers on a walk through history from the African American perspective. It helps people understand the historical forces that continue to influence Black communities in 40 mini lessons. This book has been called a “must-read,” with many believing it should be required in schools. I’m honored to partner with organizations and museums, including the Evansville African American Museum, to expand its reach. Beyond writing, I’m a dynamic speaker who fosters meaningful conversations about race, history, and equity. I’ve presented at organizations such as MillerKnoll, I AM Academy, Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance Summit, and more—bringing uncomfortable yet necessary discussions to the forefront in an engaging and welcoming way. Most recently, I traveled to Ghana, Africa with high school students who earned the trip by writing essays about my book. Their experience, like mine, was life changing. For over 20 years, I’ve helped nonprofits, Fortune 500 companies, and government agencies implement impactful business strategies. As a founding fellow of the CEO Action for Racial Equity Fellowship, I successfully authored Racism: A Public Health Crisis, one of the initiative’s original public policy solutions. My passion lies at the intersection of history, policy, and equity—ensuring the past informs the present to create a better future.
