About Threaded Together

Threaded Together is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Flagstaff, Arizona. Our mission is to inspire creativity and connection through textile arts programs that partner with participants to nurture inclusive communities, cultivate agency, and develop employment pathways for people who have faced personal challenges and institutional injustice. We have three primary programs, operated out of our East Flagstaff location. 1) STEP: Sewing and Textile Employment Pathway Program A 9-month, 720- hour PAID vocational training program teaching professional production sewing and alterations skills primarily to people who have experienced personal challenges and institutional injustices- referred to our program by community partners at Sharon Manor, Hope Cottage, and Northland Family Help Center. Our goal is to ensure Threaded Together apprentices acquire the skills they need to find and retain meaningful, sustainable employment in the textile industry while working in a flexible, compassionate, and safe environment. 2) Sewing Squad Taught by our talented fiber and textile educators, Sewing Squad provides teens with the opportunity to learn practical skills, take creative risks, and spend time in a safe and empowering community, once a week. We partner with organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Flagstaff and Ponderosa High School. Currently, we work with incredibly creative, bright, and motivated students from Coconino County Juvenile Court. During Sewing Squad they’re encouraged to cultivate autonomy and create whatever they can imagine under the guidance of dedicated mentors. 3)Create + Connect Learn and share skills, and find support on your creative path at Create + Connect, our open studio time for sewing and all textile crafts! All skill levels are welcome, including beginners. Create + Connect is free and open to all, due to the support of donors, volunteers, and grant funding.
