About Together 4 Huancane
"Help build a school in Huancané, one of the highest inhabited places in the world, located in the Andes of Peru." We aim to raise funds to complete the construction of a much-needed school in the remote mountain town of Huancané, one of the poorest areas in Peru. Located in the Puno region near Lake Titicaca, this community endures harsh Andean cold and limited access to essential resources. Thanks to the generous support of Monsignor Giovanni Cefai, bishop from Malta residing in Puno, we successfully completed the first phase of the project, which includes the construction of classrooms. Now, we are seeking support for the second phase, which will provide vital infrastructure for the school. Monsignor Giovanni Cefai, originally from Italy, has been a missionary for many years in one of the most challenging regions of Peru. After witnessing the deep needs of the local people, he began building community kitchens to fight hunger. However, he also encountered another painful reality: children had no proper school where they could study with dignity. The conditions were alarming—crumbling infrastructure, collapsing walls, limited school supplies, and extreme cold that endangered the health of the students, many of whom suffered from pneumonia. Moved by this situation, Monsignor Cefai launched the construction of a school designed to withstand the harsh Andean climate. Your support can help transform the lives of children in Huancané by providing them with a safe, fully equipped space for learning and growth.
