Trees New York’s mission is to plant, preserve and protect New York City’s trees through education and community participation. Trees New York currently has two tree planting initiatives- FruiTrees New York and Evergreening the City. Trees New York trains volunteers to be experts in tree care and is the only institution designated by NYC Parks to license New Yorkers to legally prune street trees through our renowned Citizen Pruner course. Trees New York has three educational programs- Youth Environmental Literacy for students K-12, in and out of school; tree care training for adults and the Young Urban Forester internship.
