About Trimetis

Trimetis Ltd is a Bristol-based research and consultancy business with expertise in the application of human factors and cognitive systems engineering skills, knowledge, techniques, principles and approaches to the understanding and support of complex human-technology domains. The principle research scientists have experience in a variety of domains including but not limited to defence and security. Our aim is to improve the performance of individuals, teams and organisations in the accomplishment of complex cognitive tasks (including situation awareness, sensemaking, decision making, planning, risk management, uncertainty management, team coordination and common grounding) in complex working environments characterised by uncertainty, time pressure, high stakes, organisational constraints, vague and/or conflicting goals, complex and dynamic settings, multiple players, and intelligent adversaries. We utilise cognitive field research methods as well as more tightly controlled methods when applicable in both understanding and analysing the nature of the problem, developing potential interventions to improve performance and evaluation of those interventions to ascertain performance impact. Our services include contributions to improving organisational processes, organisational design, individual training and education, the development of information technologies and technological systems to support operators involved in cognitive work. We demonstrate excellent team working behaviours that allow us to work with our partner networks to supplement and complement our own skills and knowledge with those that we do not possess, in support of providing high impact solutions.
