Urban Descent events support numerous charities and community groups right around Australia. Our primary purpose is to provide opportunities that promote philanthropy, imagination and exhilarating urban adventures to foster community connections for those with the courage and commitment to challenge themselves, and wanting to make a difference in their community. Our adventure fundraising events enable excited participants to take part in bucket list, money can’t buy experiences such as abseiling from city skyscrapers, zip lining across stadium fields from light towers, and swinging from iconic bridges, all in the name of raising much needed funds for charities. Urban Descent was launched by the founder of Adventure Out Australia, Terry Hewett. Specialising in outdoor education, Terry created Australia’s first ever charity building abseil in 2002 and has since delivered 27 successful adventure fundraising events, raising more than $8.28m for charities over 15 years. Urban Descent has not-for-profit status with the aim of realising the full potential of the fastest growing area for charities to generate income, adventure fundraising.
