About Valley Youth Orchestra

VALLEY YOUTH ORCHESTRA provides youth ages 8-18 from Delta, Montrose, Mesa, Ouray and San Juan counties in Western Colorado the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a string orchestra. There are 3 ability-level ensembles with a strong emphasis on mentoring. Their season is organized into trimesters with a performance at the end of each trimester. There are also additional performing opportunities in schools and surrounding communities. The VYO is a non-profit organization run by a strong Board of Directors. The current Music Director has 36 years of teaching experience and a Masters of Music Education.
