About WES Foundation
The WES Foundation is a Duluth, GA based 501(c) 3, non-profit charity established by the Smith family after their 22 year-old son, Wes, succumbed to leukemia in 2005. The Foundation’s primary purpose is that of collecting and distributing funds for leukemia research. Each year requests are received from around the world and the Foundation’s medical advisory board reviews and chooses those that are most innovative and potentially curative. The selected researchers are awarded a $50,000 grant. In eight funding cycles the Foundation has contributed $1.5 million to leukemia research. Though we are proud of our accomplishments to date, more must be done to find a cure so we will continue to seek funds to fund the research necessary.
